MTAG goes Blog

After years of government inaction the Maribyrnong Truck Action Group has had a big win. A ban on all trucks over 4 Tonnes through busy shopping precincts. Incredible what we have had to put up with for so long but this is a huge victory and is a testament to the power of residents action. I hope that the incredible amount of data on the MTAG website had a bit to do with the strength of the movement and it’s longevity. We certainly have had some traffic over the last year.

To get things moving along again more needs to be done as there are still major issues to be resloved. Francis Street traffic is outside the area to be protected by the ban and is having cameras installed to help enforce the night curfew.

To help things along and to give members of the committee a greater voice online we have installed WordPress and created a new look for MTAG. Comments are welcome on all entries.

We are in final testing and data transfer at the moment but you can get a preview here.
